Finite vs Infinite

Finite vs Infinite

We, as God’s creation, are finite. We live in a space with limits and boundaries. However, God is infinite; He has no boundaries and no limitations. His infinite qualities cannot be measured or calculated. As His creation, we are partakers of His divine nature, His limitless power, and goodness. As His children, we are blessed with His Heavenly provisions. He provides, and we partake. The wonders of His divine nature have been present since the beginning of time.

For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse (Romans 1:20).

Reverence and submission to His infinite qualities and power will prosper us! Denying His infinite qualities will only rob us of joy, peace, and, ultimately, our eternal home (Heaven). When Satan sifted Job, his eyes temporarily shifted to his losses rather than God’s infinite power and goodness. Job, being a child of God and one who had been blessed because of his reverence and obedience to God, lost everything. In his season of hardship, he needed to be reminded by a friend of how big God really is. Job 37: 1-16 But then God Himself spoke to Job at length in Chapters 38-41, reminding Job of His greatness and power.

As men, we are partakers of His divine nature. Therefore, we should never forget that, as His creation, we should be in constant awe of who He is. He not only created us as partakers of His creation but also participants to honor Him and, like Him, to bless others. Unfortunately, not all of God’s creation considers His goodness, nor do they give Him thanks. Like a patient rejecting treatment from a wise doctor, the patient is determined to care for himself and thus oversees his own demise.

The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles (Romans 1: 18-23).

God created me, and for that, I give Him thanks! My trials teach me, and for that, I give Him thanks! In my prosperity, He gave me the desire to know Him still, and for that, I give Him thanks! He graciously saved me from all my sins, and for that, I give Him thanks! And when I take my last breath on earth, I will spend eternity in Heaven, and for that, most of all, I give Him thanks!

No man can put his arms around the goodness and greatness of God––it is too much for us to take in! So, we live in faith, just giving Him thanks!

Give Him thanks for one more weekend!
