Fellowship : Breakfast & The Word

We gather monthly over breakfast to share a meal and dive into God's Word together. These breakfasts are more than just food--they are opportunities for authentic fellowship, encouragement, and iron sharpening iron. There's power in men coming together to build each other up, listen to God's truth, and pray for one another as we navigate life's challenges.

Manhood: What God Says

In a world that often confuses or dilutes the meaning of manhood, RTM looks to Scripture for clarity. We explore what it means to live as men after God's own heart, focusing on strength, vulnerability, leadership, and integrity. We live boldly--defined not by cultural expectations, but by God's standards--leading with courage and standing firm in our faith.

Learn God's Word

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

~ 2 Timothy 3:16-17

Strengthen & Encourage

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together… but encouraging one another.

Embolden Men to Multiply

Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven.

~ Matthew 10:33

Boldly Share the Truth

For I am not ashamed of the gospel because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.

~ Romans 1:16

Mentor the Next Generation of Godly Men

Encourage the young men to be self-controlled. In everything set them an example… so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us.

~ Titus 2:6-8

Our History

RTM Origin Text Message

In 2002, a businessman from Charlotte, North Carolina, invited three men to his house for a cup of coffee and a raw discussion about life. With busyness working like vice grips to keep men isolated, Stephen L. Thomas committed to spending time each week with these men. One Saturday turned into a regular rhythm of meeting. Organic growth ensued, and that modest group of young businessmen produced an army of men meeting weekly for fellowship, accountability, and discussion. As this group multiplied over the following years, it became increasingly difficult to facilitate new groups and maintain the simplistic DNA of the original group. Efforts to scale to other neighborhoods and areas eventually lost momentum, but despite its challenges, Steve and a remnant of faithful men prioritized gathering on a regular basis with the simple aim of meeting men where they are in life.

On November 5, 2017, Steve and his friend Doug Benefield were exchanging texts about the simple elements necessary for a dynamic men's environment—food, fire, fellowship, and God's Word. This dream soon became a reality. A Red Truck was purchased, and Red Truck Men officially launched in 2021.

RTM Fire Pit

Authentic friendship, consistent fellowship, and a commitment to God's Word are believed to be essential for every man's well-being. It's to that end that Red Truck Men was formed—to meet men where they are and to pull together men from all walks of life. From a young boy to a grown man, one of the things that seems to unify all men is a common love for big red trucks.

When you hear a siren and watch a fire engine rush to a burning building, it elicits a feeling of respect and honor. The men on board that Red Truck are heroes—selfless men whose profession is dedicated to responding to crisis and promoting a message of hope. In that spirit, Red Truck Men desires to unite a band of brothers who build significant bonds of friendship as they serve their God, family, and community with honor and humility.
